Through design innovation and a deep respect for its artisanal heritage, NAS Design reimagined the possibilities of Golden Grass for modern spaces by developing an application technique that transforms this rare natural fiber into decorative panels using a conscious, low-impact production method.
Rather than traditional weaving, each strand is individually positioned and meticulously applied by hand onto MDF panels.
This process creates seamless textures with luminous depth that shift beautifully throughout the day.
Known also as “Organic Gold,” Golden Grass from Jalapão possesses a reflective golden tone unlike any other fiber in the world. Its golden effect occurs naturally within the plant itself, something extremely rare in nature.
When integrated with architectural lighting, the panels reveal exceptional luminosity and warmth, creating an immersive and sensorial environment.
Golden Grass carries an authentic rustic character derived from the natural variations of the fiber itself. Subtle differences in texture, tone, and shape are inherent to the material, making each panel unique and highlighting its organic origin.
Designed for walls, doors, furniture, ceilings, and creative interior applications, the 20 x 10 cm panel format was carefully developed in response to the natural characteristics of Golden Grass while allowing versatile installation layouts and multiple pattern possibilities and compositions.
Beyond its aesthetic value, our product also reflects a commitment to sustainability and responsible production. Golden Grass is responsibly harvested during a restricted annual season in Jalapão, preserving the natural regeneration cycle of the plant.
